Description: 

Objectives: The government project aimed to protect the natural habitat and support the recovery of the Halda River, a crucial habitat for the Rohu Carp fish. The primary objective was to create and maintain a suitable environment for the Rohu Carp and facilitate the production of Rohu Carp minnows.

Location: Raoujan, Hathazari, Fotikchori, Boyalkhali, Potiya, Chondronaice, Ranguniya, Anoyara, Kaptai, Kornofuly, Ramgor, and Manikchori in Bangladesh.

Duration of Assignment: 8 months (April 2022 – November 2022)

Narrative Description of Project: The project focused on preserving and enhancing the natural habitat of the Halda River, which is critical for the survival of the Rohu Carp fish species. The primary goal was to create an environment conducive to the growth and reproduction of Rohu Carp, including the production of Rohu Carp minnows. This project was initiated by the Department of Fisheries in Bangladesh to support the conservation of the Halda River ecosystem.

  • Prepared an inception report outlining the project’s scope and objectives.
  • Developed a methodology for conducting the feasibility study.
  • Designed questionnaires and data collection methods.
  • Conducted both primary and secondary data collection.
  • Performed data entry and analysis.
  • Provided in-depth monitoring of the project’s progress.
  • Prepared a comprehensive report summarizing the study’s findings and recommendations.
