Dr. Syed Ali Azher

Dr.Syed Ali Azher, currently a Freelance consultant; optionally retired senior B.C.S cadre government officer of the Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh. He was Project Director of several projects of DOF. As a DFID-WorldFish scholar he awarded PhD in Fisheries Management from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He is a renounced Fisheries Expert who successfully completed his assignment in GOPA WORLD Consultant as NRM and Biodiversity Expert, as policy Adviser, in German Development Co-operation (GIZ), as Lead Consultant in national and international Organization viz. Winrock International, WorlFish Center, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), MRAG, UNDP-CNRS, IMED-CCL; HILIP-IFAD. He has 10 scientific publications published in different renounced National Journals and more than 20 articles published in different souvenirs, newspapers etc. He is writer of the text book “Aquatic Biodiversity Conservation and Management” and Editor of “Open water Fisheries Management” those are text book of Diploma in Fisheries Course. Dr. Azher particularly expert in Policy formulation/development, review and analysis, Aquaculture and Fish breeding, Training, Co-management and Community Based Fisheries Management, Natural Resource, Management Monitoring & Evaluation etc.
He received higher training in Thailand, England, Vietnam and Nepal. In addition successfully completed more than 20 in country and overseas training courses.
