Objectives: The project aimed to inform RDRS’s design and programming approach for its signature program, the RDRS Union Federations, with the goal of transforming them into Strategic Development Partners. The study focused on documenting the current landscape of people’s organizations, community-based organizations, farmers’ societies, clubs, and other grassroots-level organizations in Bangladesh. It also considered organizations patronized by other entities like Caritas Bangladesh, FAO, SKS, ESDO, among others.
Location: 8 districts of Rangpur Division, Bangladesh
Duration of Assignment: 3 months (August 2022 – October 2022)
Narrative Description of Project: The project’s primary objective was to provide insights and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of RDRS Union Federations as Strategic Development Partners. To achieve this, the study assessed the current state of various grassroots-level organizations in Bangladesh that play a role similar to that of the RDRS Union Federations. This assessment included a review of the by-laws of the Federation, recommendations for necessary changes, and an evaluation of the Federation assessment tools with suggestions for improvement.

- Assessed the Federation assessment tools and suggested improvements.
- Conducted primary and secondary data collection and analysis.
- Submitted a comprehensive report summarizing the findings and providing policy recommendations.
