Objectives: The project aims to improve the living standards of poor and destitute women affected by climate change in the Haor areas of Bangladesh, particularly in the Sunamgonj District. The primary focus is on enhancing the livelihoods of women in this vulnerable region.
Location: 5 Upazilla of Sunamgonj District, Bangladesh
Duration of Assignment: 18 months (January 2021–June 2022)
Narrative Description of Project: The project is situated in the low-lying Haor areas of Bangladesh, where agriculture and fishing are the main livelihoods. The region is heavily affected by climate change, and the project’s objective is to improve the living standards of the vulnerable female population in this area.
Description of Actual Services Provided by AIRD: Associates for Innovative Research and Developments (AIRD) provided various services for this project, including the development of a Training Module, conducting Training, assessing the progress of participants’ knowledge, Monitoring of the project, and submitting Reports. The project aimed to empower and uplift the socio-economic status of poor women affected by climate change in the region.
