Description: 

Objectives: The survey aimed to assess and propose the establishment of a system for promoting the Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative (MIDI), including the role and authority arrangements of the MIDI Coordination Committee, MIDI Secretariat, related ministries, and government agencies. The survey also sought to collect information, analyze and present improvement plans related to the update of the Sustainable Development Plan (SDP) formulated by the SDP and examine and propose MIDI Master Plan (MP) formulation policy formulated by integrating SDP.

Location: Dhaka Division, Dhaka City, and Chittagong Division, Cox’s Bazar District, specifically the Moheshkhali – Matarbari area and hinterland in Bangladesh.

Duration of Assignment: 10 months (June 2021 – March 2022)

Narrative Description of Project: The project involved conducting a comprehensive survey to examine and propose a system that would promote the Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative (MIDI). This included evaluating the roles and authority arrangements of various entities involved in MIDI-based development, such as the MIDI Coordination Committee, MIDI Secretariat, and related ministries and government agencies. The survey also focused on gathering information, analyzing data, and presenting improvement plans related to the update of the Sustainable Development Plan (SDP) formulated by the SDP. Additionally, the project aimed to examine and propose policies for the formulation of the MIDI Master Plan (MP) by integrating it with the SDP.
