Description:

The evaluation assesses how the project improved livelihoods of slum dwellers in Dhaka and Nilphamari through skills training and employment, focusing on women, youth, and persons with disabilities. It reviews training effectiveness, job placement, inclusion of marginalized groups, sustainability of skills, and captures lessons and success stories to guide future TVET and livelihood initiatives.

Location: Mohammadpur, Mirpur and Syedpur

Duration: 2 Month (3rd September 2025 to 31st October 2025)

Narrative description: The five-year TVET project (2020–2025) by Muslim Aid-UK, supported by the King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, aims to improve livelihoods of 22,100 slum dwellers in Dhaka and Nilphamari. It provides certified training in nine trades, aligned with the National Technical and Vocational Qualification Framework. Partnering with government and industry, it supports job placement, self-employment, and inclusion of women, youth, and persons with disabilities. The project strengthens institutional capacity and promotes sustainable livelihoods. Overall, it fosters long-term economic resilience and empowerment.
