The project aimed to improve Chattogram’s water and sanitation services by upgrading water supply infrastructure, developing sewerage and drainage systems, and strengthening Chattogram WASA’s institutional capacity. These measures sought to ensure sustainable, reliable services while enhancing public health and environmental conditions in the city.

Duration: 4 Months (26th January 2025 to 25th May 2025)

Narrative description: The Chittagong Water Supply Improvement and Sanitation (1st Revised) Project (2011–2021) was implemented by Chattogram WASA under the Ministry of Local Government to meet the city’s growing water and sanitation needs. It received funding from the Government of Bangladesh, the International Development Association (IDA), and CWASA, aiming to provide safe water and effective sanitation services to residents.
