Objectives: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between climate elements and violent crime in Bangladesh. This pioneering research examined methodological and theoretical aspects of the connection between socio-environmental factors and deviant human behavior. The project reviewed recent studies on the relationship between meteorological factors (temperature, humidity, and rainfall rate) and violent crime to inform the research methodology. Additionally, the study aimed to provide recommendations for strategies and programs to address this issue and assist criminal justice practitioners and administrators.

Location: 14 Districts of Bangladesh

Duration of Assignment: 28 months (July 2019 – December 2021)

Narrative Description of Project: This project conducted an exploratory study to understand the influence of weather elements on violent crime in Bangladesh. It delved into methodological and theoretical aspects and reviewed existing research on meteorological factors and violent crime. The study aimed to contribute valuable insights and recommendations for addressing this issue.

Description of Actual Services Provided by AIRD: Associates for Innovative Research and Developments (AIRD) provided various services for this project, including Primary Data Collection, Secondary Data Collection, Data Entry and Analysis, and Report Writing. The research involved a team of professionals and researchers to investigate the relationship between weather elements and violent crime in Bangladesh.
